About Us

Welcome to our Hideaway where checking in means checking out.

Our bed and breakfast is located at Bois Blanc Island or “Boblo”.  The island is truly a diamond in the rough. This gem is 12 miles long and 6 miles wide located in Lake Huron with 6 Inland lakes of its own. This remote retreat offers the tranquility of nature and time to reconnect and unplug. The island is not without modern accommodations including a diner, a general store, a tavern, and the hideaway. The Hideaway is a little slice of heaven nestled on 25 acres overlooking the straits of Mackinac and is minutes by boat from world-famous Mackinac Island and Cheboygan. Our amazing spacious home offers something for everybody, be it a romantic getaway for two or the whole family.

Who are we?

We are proud to say The Hideaway is a family-oriented and run bed and breakfast. We (Adam and Tammie) are the homeowners and chances are you’ll see us out and about, probably with our chocolate lab, Tonka. Our kids; Tiffany, Andy, Nathan, and Mike often help out behind the scenes, help run our website, accounting, and other things such as keeping the trails groomed and the woodpile full. Our nieces and nephews are often around helping out wherever they can or just socializing on the beach.

Meet the Innkeeper

Tammie Murphy and Adam Bronkema are the owners of the Hideaway. Adam will be your host/Innkeeper at the Hideaway and strives to make sure you have a very relaxing vacation.

Tammie is a lifelong resident of Fremont, MI, and Adam from Greenville, MI. Tammie remains a registered nurse at a rehab facility downstate but helps out at The Hideaway throughout the summer.

Our goal is to make you feel like family and take pride in exceeding your expectations.

We may have stand-in Innkeepers from time to time but don’t worry as you’ll be in good hands.

Breakfast

What’s a bed and breakfast without breakfast? Ours is homemade daily with alternating menus including but not limited to toast from homemade bread, homemade waffles, delightful stuffed french toast.
